The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) is the current fitness test for the United States Army. It consists of six events: 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL), Standing Power Throw (SPT), Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP), Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Plank (PLK), and 2-Mile Run (2MR).

Each of the six ACFT events is scored on a scale from 0-100 points, for a maximum score of 600. The minimum passing score varies by MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and is categorized into three physical demand levels: Moderate (Gold), Significant (Gray), and Heavy (Black).

Yes, all of our calculators are built using the official scoring tables and standards published by the U.S. military. We update our calculators promptly whenever there are changes to official standards.

Improving your ACFT score requires dedicated training for each event. Focus on full-body strength training, particularly deadlifts, power movements, core strength, upper body exercises, and cardiovascular conditioning. Our Training Programs section offers specific workout plans tailored to ACFT improvement.

The Army body composition standards vary by age and gender. Generally, soldiers must maintain body fat percentages below 22% for males and 32% for females (ages 17-20), with higher allowances for older age groups. The Army uses a tape test method to estimate body fat percentage.

Military fitness standards can be updated periodically based on research and policy changes. Major revisions are typically announced well in advance, but minor adjustments may occur more frequently. Our calculators reflect the most current published standards.
